"In just a couple of sessions, Roberta understood what I needed to explore. She recommended the "Now What" group she was about to start, and she was right -- I have a renewed sense of purpose and a plan for the future that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Thank you, Roberta!"

About Roberta Taylor

I came to life-planning and coaching in my mid fifties. After many years as a psychotherapist working in both non-profit settings and in private practice, I was becoming restless, thinking about, "What's next?" Continuing to work with people was a given, but I wanted to do it in a way that satisfied my need for growth, creativity and challenge. In retrospect, I was going through a developmental process which was calling me to work with people who want the next chapter of their lives to be purposeful, meaningful, and fulfilling.

As "third-agers" we can expect to live decades longer, and healthier, than our parents. We have opportunities and choices that were inconceivable to previous generations. Traditional retirement is no longer the goal for many of us. People are becoming more interested in using their experience, creativity and skills in life enhancing and generative ways by starting new careers, making contributions, and stepping out of their comfort zones. Leaving a career has become an opportunity for a new beginning rather than being the end of a rich and varied work life.

My passion is helping people to know themselves more deeply, clarifying what it is they really want to create in the next chapter of their lives. By exploring needs and values, tracking life threads that reveal meaning and purpose, and reconnecting with long forgotten dreams, we begin to see who we have been and who we really want to be moving forward.

Coaching is not about healing the past. Coaching is about helping people grow into their true selves. It is a strength-based approach for identifying our talents and abilities, clarifying what needs must be met for us to thrive, challenging limiting beliefs that are holding us back, and setting and reaching goals that are congruent with our values. As a result we live healthier, more satisfying and meaningful lives.

I offer my clients a passion for learning and growth, the wisdom and experience of my own journey, and the belief that realizing who we were meant to be comes with the desire and courage to step into our full potential.
